Human Resources Department: Role within the Organization:

The existence of a human resources department is vital to overall productivity and efficiency of the strong workforce in any thriving company. In most professional organizations, the role of the human resources department is not sidelined or eclipsed by other departments. In fact, good human resources can be one of the most valued and respected departments in an organization; their job is people, and people are the company's most important asset.

Consistency:

Consistency is an important quality related to the implementation of HR policies. Employees should receive a clear, undiluted message of what behaviors are important and desirable. When there is a fit between HR systems, employees are likely to receive consistent feedback. The 3 types of consistency are…

Objective Setting:



Objective Setting can be defined as an exercise to analyses and break-up a managerial job in terms of its major parts in which results are required, and consequently defining the standard (Level) of result required in each area. A statement of the major result areas of a job together with the definition of the standard of result required in each for a particular year can be said to be the objective of the particular job. In most jobs normally there may be no more than 6 or 7 objectives:

Effective Human Resource Management:

Strategic Human Resource Management is done by linking of HRM with strategic goals and objectives in order to improve business performance and developing organizational cultures that foster innovation and flexibility. It involves planning HR activities and deployment in such a way to enable organizations to achieve their goals. Human Resource activities such as recruitment, selection, training and rewarding personnel are done by keeping in view the company's goals and objectives. Organizations focuses on identifying, analyzing and balancing two sorts of forces that is; the organization's external opportunities and threats on one hand and its internal strengths and weaknesses on the other. Alignment of the Human Resource system with the strategic goals of firm has facilitated organizations to achieve superb targets.

Successful Human Resource Management for Employees:


Almost all large sized companies have some type of human resources management in place so that employees have someone available to help them deal with many different types of issues. Without a human resources system a company will find that any disputes that come up between the company and an employee, or between two employees, will take far too much time to work out. Many times the end result will be unresolved issues that cause an employee to quit out of anger or frustration. Human resources are there to prevent this from happening by having effective policies in place to deal with any conceivable problem that may arise.
